So living in booterstown now, didn't realise how noisey collinswood was untill my first night in st helens wood. Best nights sleep in a long time, so very very quiet here.
Also noticed the pretty big difference in the quality of the roads compared to the northside... what the hell were the local politicans doing right here that the ones on the northside were doing wrong?

updside to the recession thing, I can probably afford a house. Though it depends entirely on what happens in this next budgget thing in april. But hopes are high, rang up the banks about mortgages and was pretty suprised by how much they would give me. Will probably be buying a house in maynooth the thrid quarter this year if all goes well. My don't I feel all grown up.

Was good fun hit a art gallery and saw exhibition by Jeff Koon and another by Klee http://www.neue-nationalgalerie.de/ Jeff Koons stuff was very brash not sure if I really liked it, interesting though. Klee's was pretty cool though lots of different things went on in that guys head. Saw aother one called Political/minimal http://www.kw-berlin.de/english/program_frameset.htm . Really strange stuff in there, one By damien Hirst, just a giant circle made of thousands of dead flies, but thats Hirst for you. Dead interesting film though called Blue by Derek Jarman, really advise people to watch if if they can find it somewhere.

College finished till Jan 12th, still no word on what the government is doing with the banks.. all very strange not knowing what the hell is going to happen... will we end up with BOI ( doesn't look like that would be good ) or will we end up with EBS ( better option everyone thinks )


Ah well wait and see, at least I'll have the masters no matter what happens so not all bad.

Off to berlin on 26th should be great fun, doing a bit of research to see whos playing over there, plan bit of clubbing, hitting some jazz bars and fit in a rock bar there somewhere. Fun fun

Also have two assignments due, one on writing up a IT strategy, got to allign it to the business stratgey and provdie references to case studies...
Second one on the future of democracy and government with respect to IT..
How very vauge and open ended both of them

Spent good half of last week in Edinburgh, was great fun. Got the ferry over, fast one took 1.30 hours, then the train to crewe and up to Edinburgh. The trip was well lubricated with cheap beer :D Arrived in Edinburgh about 8.30pm and headed straight out on the town :D Woke up feeling a little worse for wear and decided hangovers called for a steamy bowl of soup. We then went and spent three hours exploring the castle, which well and truly rocks!
The apartment we stayed in was pretty cool holyrood aprthotel they call themselves. Two rooms with superking size beds, one with ensuite, and a decent sized kitchen/ living room. Plus hamped with bread, jams, cerals, riveta, shortbread, milk OJ yogurts all thrown in the deal. Was well impressed considering the price :D Went on a ghost tour too, quite good. Had coffee in the Elephant House Cafe that Harry Potter was written in ( though the cafe just beside it is actually nicer ) Went to the Frankenstien nighhtclub which is nowhere near as cheesy as it sounds and has great platter deals... plus a godd deal on an icebucket full of corona :D
All in all pretty good trip though the train was a good experience I think I'll be flying in future ( granted on the train/ferry for 90 return you can bring back as many bags as you can carry for no extra price )

I is bored !!

Registered for college on friday, went to a 21st. Thick fog over the curragh so all our taxis were cancelled, so we made the best of it and kept drinking till 6am :D Starting lectures on the 6th. £ hours every monday and tuesday for the next two years. I'm sure it'll be lots of fun

I sprained an ankel for like the umpteenth time last weekend.. No matter how many times I do this it always amazes me how I can have forgotten how bloody inconvienent it is. I mean back in 2004 I spranied both within a week am only now do I recall how awfull it was. This time its only one, it happened back in roscommon at mantua and fuck me is it awkward. Can't jump, spend an hour each day balancing on one foot to strengten the muscles. Can't to jump squats or any kind of real excerices for fear of losing it and really fucking it up grrr...

And the damn thing takes like three months to heal!!

Back to being a student for me in october :) Got accepted into trinity to do a master in MIS, think I might qualify for this too http://www.studentfinance.ie/mp7559/check-grant-levels/index.html not the maintence bit but the tutition paid part would be nice though the application form is massive. Still even if I end up paying it all at least I get the tax back. Think it'll be all novelty the first three months and then I expect doing it part time around the shift work will be hell. Should be good to have it though and I guess if I don't do it now I really doubt I'll do it at all in a few years.
